photo portfolio: A professional fine art digital and film multimedia, still image documentary essay set to music (DVD version)Portfolios

We are proud to present a sample of our current photography portfolios to you. Each photo portfolio cover a broad range of photographic experiences. As of now, only still images are included.

We just added samples of our multimedia work.

Broadly, here is what you'll find in the portfolios (click on links to go to the actual portfolios):

  1. A photo portfolio from our very new Symphonie Noir. The original work is in multimedia form. The show was recently on exhibition in Seattle.
  2. Images from our Chanson series of multimedia photography presentations. This particular show uses a market as a microcosm to illustrate loneliness in a crowded world.
  3. Samples of work in progress (Preludes photo portfolio)- ideas, sketches, ongoing projects in a completely unorganized fashion.
  4. Images from our somewhat more conventional "people" (Peuple photo portfolio) series.
  5. Samples of our multimedia work.

Why the French and Italian? Well, it just happened. The reason is to illustrate globalization and avoid getting pegged into specific locales. Our world is the World. The actual images in any photo portfolio actually are from many corners of the World.

photo portfolio: Loneliness nights – film Critical acclaim

Critics and advisors have used many words - overwhelmingly positive - to describe our photography and multimedia work. For instance, they use words such as:

photo portfolio: Loneliness nights – film Who can argue with that? Or actually know what it means? Precisely. Here are a few recent comments from our blogs:

"Fantastic photos. Love the spot focus in the third picture from the top." - vortexbits

"i love the way you have captured the spirit of music and night. great contrasts and how you have used darkness so well to accentuate light. You have created a sense of so much character and story possibilities from this stylish black and white story." - sabrina

In fact, we currently do a lot of nighttime urban scenes. The wonderful, extreme range of light versus darkness just cannot be beaten. Then, we love music and are fascinated by the possibilities of combining the two mediums. We enjoy taking pictures of artists, musicians, stage and other performers. A version of the "bar where everyone knows your name" perhaps.

Our preference for moody, emotional images (and music) must be obvious. Emotion and moods are key elements in our art. We call it Camera Noir. Needless to say, we love Film Noir and much of the European '30s and '40s photography. The urban landscapes of Berlin, Paris, Vienna or London on the verge of disaster and its aftermath? We sure wish we could have been there with a beat-up Leica ready to go! Meanwhile, there are plenty of urban scenes existing today worthy of recording. We hope we have shown that.
