This photography piece of work is a truly personal document. During its year long development phase, there were many times when we wondered if we really wanted to share something as personal with others. In the end, we decided that sharing is what artists really do.
The "real" version of Symphonie Noir is a six movement multimedia presentation - approximately 21 minutes long. Each movement represent a very different mood and purpose in the general goal of illustrating the World in which we live and how we fit - or not. It's moody, it's dark and it's honest - at least as far as us are concerned. The photo portfolio present here consists only of the still images.

A major goal was to combine
music and imaging into a meaningful, emotional context. Obviously we can't illustrate that on this site at the moment. However,
the DVDs are available for sale.
A great many people contributed to this photography and multimedia work. Musicians, actors, advisors, fellow photographers and multimedia experts. It is too many to mention by name, except for two: Regina Rubin was my advisor through the project and is a very accomplished artist. Without her, I'd never seen it through. Second, Photography Center Northwest, its management, instructors and students made it all possible.
